Add a status monitor
Watch a website, an API, a port or a scheduled job, and show its uptime on your public status page.

Add the monitor
Step 1: Open Status
Choose Status in the dock, then Add monitor.
Step 2: Choose what to watch
Under What should we watch?, pick Website, API, Port or Heartbeat. Heartbeat is for cron jobs, queues and webhooks: your job calls an address we give you on every run.
Step 3: Set the address and schedule
Give it a name and an address. Choose how often to Check every, from 1 minute to 1 day, and after how many failed checks to call it down (2 by default). We try the address as soon as you’ve typed it.
Step 4: Start watching
Select Start watching. The first check runs straight away.
Fine-tune it
Open the monitor and choose Edit monitor for the rest: HTTP method, expected status codes, headers and body, authentication, a keyword to look for, timeouts, a slow threshold, SSL checks with expiry reminders, and whether it shows on your status page. Test now runs a check with your changes before you save.
Checks run from several of bynh’s locations at once, and a monitor is marked down only when most of them fail, so one region’s network trouble doesn’t page you. If your site filters traffic, allow our checker addresses first (see Allow our checkers). Ping and DNS checks aren’t offered; an HTTPS or port check tells you more about whether customers can reach you.
When it goes down
Choose whether bynh drafts an incident for you to post, or posts one straight away. Either way, your team hears about it by email and, if connected, in Slack. See Report an incident.
